YARD ART WITH WINE BOTTLES AND A PLOW

Post last updated: August 13th, 2018

My friend Cee, who I’ve known for about a dozen years, has some interesting yard art.

She and her husband built this super cool bottle garden.
Mulched inside the bottles, river rocks and landscape edging outside.

Cee’s husband also acquired a hand plow, and not having a compulsion to play in the dirt like some of us, turned it into a focal point in one of their garden beds. I’d like to give that plow a wild ride through some dirt to compare it to my plow. Alas, Mr. and Mrs. Cee don’t do dirt; they cover it with grass and flowers.

  1. I have wine bottles bordering my butterfly garden. Mr. Gypsy says it’s the most expensive border in the world… Love the pics…beautiful gardens!!

    1. Evie – You could do the same thing in your yard. I remember she learned the hard way that the wine bottles with concave bottoms needed holes drilled in them. Otherwise, the bottom filled up with rain water. I also remember it was a lot of work. Her husband took on the job of removing all the wine labels.

  2. Love the bottles, which I too have in my gardens, only mine aren’t so neat and tidy. What is the bright blue at the lower left side of the photo? Chunks of glass? Like the old plow – got a few of those two. Very nice garden beds. Thanks for sharing. Kim
