CAMELLIAS

Post last updated: October 11th, 2018

The Camellias are in bloom now and the bees are happy. All of these Camellias were planted by Momma. We even have multiple bushes because she rooted some of them to make extra bushes. The bushes are on both sides of her house, at the front entrance, and in the back near my “Fern Bed.”

  1. Oh so stunning and to those of us from the north… the thing of dreams. Good on Momma! Given the quality of these shots Jones, I’m thinkin’ yer 8 year old camera is working jes fine.

Glad you’re providing for the bees, we all need to! lymi!

    1. Duncan – Does Snow Country not have anything that blooms in the winter? Sure, the camera works when it works. Problem is, you can’t depend on it to take the picture when you hit the button. The button sticks, always when the bee or butterfly is in the frame. Not kidding.

  2. Really pretty shots. As someone else said, that old camera does a good job along with your editing software! Thanks for sharing. Camellias don’t seem to do well in our yard here but I see them all over the neighborhood in abundance.

    1. Lynn – We can’t grow dogwoods because the ground is lower here but Mr. Golf Cart has a beautiful, very large dogwood in his yard. Go figure. You are right about the photo editing software – corrects a multitude of my mistakes behind the camera.

  3. Oh, my gosh! So beautiful!!! I just adore camellias! Mine are not yet in bloom – just buds – so your post has made me quite anxious for spring to come just a bit closer here!

  4. You mean you have those beautiful flowers blooming in January??? I’d have to dig thru four inches of snow just to find some dirt.

    1. Yes, they are all blooming now. They’ve BEEN blooming because I can remember taking several into the house and putting them in a bowl of water for Mom to enjoy since she couldn’t get outside anymore so that would have been sometime in mid to late December. I’ve also got yellow bush daisies blooming.
